Manta partnered with WillowTree Apps to be its iPhone app developer and Android app developer for its Business Search apps.
Manta is the world’s largest online community for promoting and connecting small businesses. Manta’s goal was to make its vast information on over 64 million businesses available to the community of iPhone and Android users. In order to deliver a great mobile user experience, the apps had to be very fast — and so developing a highly efficient interface to work with Manta’s large database was critical. In addition, the UI had to allow users to intuitively navigate millions of businesses and the large amount of critical information associated with each.
Since its launch, the Manta iphone app has consistently been a Top 20 Business App within iTunes, as well as listed by Apple within “What’s Hot” for Business iPhone apps.
WillowTree’s iOS and Android development teams integrated the following functionalities and technologies:
- Real-time database API integration
- Local Search and Directory, GPS integration including maps, search and directions
- Favorites
- Sharing/Mobile social media integration
