The Verge targets an affluent, tech-savvy and mobile target audience. It needed sophisticated apps that exceeded the demands of its tech-hungry readers—largely men ages 25 to 40 who care as much about how they get their news as the news itself. The Verge also needed to ensure cross-platform continuity by leveraging the internal API’s of parent company VOX Media. The high expectations of The Verge readers included social sharing and a brand-worthy, media-rich experience.
WillowTree Apps designed an awesome iPhone and Android app to deliver social sharing, great rich media and a tech-savvy user experience to The Verge’s digital native audience. WillowTree collaborated with the client to ensure its internal “Chorus” APIs were successfully incorporated into the apps and delivered native audio and video experiences to user’s mobile devices.
